Todays Artist Discovery features Indie Rockers The Gulps!
The London based quintet make a hugely exciting noise, having adapted their own refreshingly unique Indie twist on a nostalgic Rock and Roll sound. With members hailing from three corners of Europe and the Middle East, each of these talented musicians certainly brings something special to the overall mix...
Having formed back in 2017, the group were quick to start playing shows - creating and defining their alluringly electric sound along the way.
2019 was a particularly special year in the bands musical journey so far with their debut EP 'In the Kings House' released in March 2019 - alongside live appearances at top festivals across Europe including Mad Cool (Madrid), Truck (UK) and Camden Rocks (UK).
The exhilaratingly energetic 4 track EP was produced by The Verve’s Urban Hymns and award-winning producer Martin 'Youth' Glover (The Cult, Thre Charlatans, Dido, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney) through his label Youth Sounds.
In October 2019, the up and coming Indie Rockers joined forces once again with producer Martin 'Youth' Glover once again, this time round to recording their highly anticipated debut album...
The group spent 2 weeks at Youth's home studio in Granada (Spain) recording their new material, with Youth producing and Michael Rendall - from electronic DJ duo The Orb - as sound engineer. We can't wait to hear it!
Not ones to shy away from opportunity or hard work, the band also performed their energetic live show at Space Mountain Festival whilst in Spain.
Flash forward to 2020 and it's already been quite hectic year already for the Indie Rock four piece, with the release of a music video for their track 'My Girl From Liverpool'.
To celebrate, the band went on tour across Spain, Italy and the UK - including a sold out show at Nambucca (London).
You can check out the video for 'My Girl From Liverpool' below!
Guitarists Charlie Green and Franco Buffone harmoniously join forces to create a sea of rich tones, thickness and depth.
The rhythm section is kept tightly in check by bassist Simon Mouchard and drummer Raoul Khayat, working closely together to form a groove driven backbone full of live character/feel.
Frontman duties fall to lead singer Harry All, who gives a strong and confident performance combining tuneful melodies, catchy hooks and heartfelt conviction.
Having achieved so much as a unit already, it seems these Indie Rockers show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The future looks very bright indeed for The Gulps, and we can't wait to see/hear more!
