Sunflower Thieves is made up of West Yorkshire based musicians Amy Illingworth and Lily Sturt-Bolshaw.

Having been close friends for over sixteen years now, the skilful pair harmoniously fuse their creative strengths to create a sonically alluring landscape of strong instrumentation and powerful vocals. A well crafted, mesmerising sound which leaves you in a dream like state of musical euphoria.

Their debut single 'Two Halves' was released in 2018 and offers a very enjoyable listening experience from start to finish. The creative partnership then went on to put out a second single, 'Heavy Weight', in 2019 and once again - you guessed it - it sounds awesome!

Drawing influence from artists such as First Aid Kit, Lucy Rose, Bear's Den and Gabrielle Aplin - their sound can be described as distinctively fresh and enchantingly emotive. For sure, their music is a solid addition to the UK music scene.

Their latest single 'Hide and Seek' was released on 29th May 2020!

The dynamic duo have raised the bar high with their latest self penned track. Setting the scene for us, Amy described how "the song was written on a writing trip to Norfolk at the beginning of this year, in a beach-side house, log fire on, and this definitely influenced the song"...

Describing the meaning behind the song, Amy explained"Hide and Seek is about childhood memory and ignorant bliss - we all wish we could escape back to a time when we felt safe and other people would take care of us, when life becomes a little difficult".

Amy went on to explain how the exciting new single was produced by Sunflower Thieves very own Lily and hugely inspired by the gifted musicians Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Rose.

The track then was given a very impressive premiere indeed - featured by John Kennedy on the popular British radio station Radio X! What a debut for such a solid release.
