Royals (Pop Rock/Pop Punk) - Artist Discovery

Todays Artist Discovery is firmly focused on Pop Rock/Punk four piece, Royals!

Hailing from Southampton (UK), the exhilaratingly energetic band combines a nostalgic 2000 era Pop Punk sound with a fresh and distinctive twist - fusing huge sounding guitars, a strong rhythmic section and infectiously catchy vocal hooks.

Their latest single, 'Fair-Weather Friend', is out today!

Formed in 2019, Royals blends the creative talents of Luke Smithson (vocals/guitar), Will Sherlock (guitar), Lewis Smyth (bass) and Alex Baker (drums).

With each member bringing something special to the table, the group were quick to start crafting out and defining their sound. After a string of enjoyable initial singles, the band dropped their highly anticipated debut EP, 'Painted Gold' on 26th April 2019.

With over 100 thousand streams already, the band entered into 2020 having set the standard incredibly high. Their latest single, 'Fair-Weather Friend', was released today and certainly doesn't fail to deliver - providing an electrifyingly driven and melodiously memorable listening experience from start to finish...

The high quality track, produced by Neck Deep bassist and coveted producer/mixer/composer Seb Barlow (Neck Deep, WSTR, ROAM, Woes, but to name a few) provides a very delicious slice of Pop Punk greatness - with consistently strong and dedicated performances all round.

With the world currently still gripped by the Covid 19 pandemic and its related social restrictions, filming a music video the conventional way just isn't possible at the moment...

...luckily for us all, however, Royals are not ones to be easily defeated! The South East rockers acted quickly by putting together a well shot, fast paced and well edited Quarantine-style video!

We think this four piece Pop Rock/Pop Punk outfit have a long and successful journey ahead of them, and it's been a pleasure to write about them. Here's to their future - we're looking forward to it!
