After forming the three-piece group when they were in Year 6, Post Rome are continuing their music journey in the North East.
Jasper Watson (Lead vocals and Bassist), Ben Goodfellow (Backing vocals and Guitarist) and Jamie Martin (Drummer) make up the group bringing their own indie and alternative rock sounds to Post Rome.
The group started performing Iron Maiden covers at presentations for their parents in Year 6, Jasper spoke more about how it started: “Ben got a guitar and started lessons, then Jamie found out and started playing drums and I just happened to get a bass at the same time.
“We were all best mates at the time, so we decided to form a group, performing in assemblies and at the headteachers leaving assembly.”
The groups popularity has grown over the years and they are now mixing their music types adding a bit of heavy pop into the mix. Take a listen to their song 'Six Feet' below.
The band supported Larkins on their UK tour at Independent in Sunderland last year and they returned to perform with Patrick Gosling at a charity gig for the Sunderland Soup Kitchen.
Post Rome have also played at other iconic North East venues such as Think Tank and have played the Sounds of Sunderland Festival in 2019.
The group currently have 3 songs out on Spotify and are hoping to release their EP very soon: “At the moment we are recording a lot in Manchester, South Sheilds and a lot of places. We are hoping in February to have our first EP out and it will be called Different Kids. So watch this space!”
