KOBARA Releases New Music Video For His Latest Single 'Your Heart Is Your Home'

Hailing from Kilkenny in Ireland, songwriter and producer Kobara has dropped a video for latest single 'Your Heart is Your Home' - taken from his recently released EP 'Five Lovely Poisons', released 5th June!

Packed full of live character, the new record offers an promising glimpse of just what this up and coming artist is capable of - with strong instrumentation and powerfully raw, memorable lead vocals...

The name Kobara is an acronym comprised of Keith O Brien (the real name behind the magic) and Related Arts.

Whilst the solo project is an exciting new chapter in the talented musicians life, begun in 2019, Keith is certainly no stranger to the world of music...

He grew up playing in punk rock bands as well as performing with popular traditional Irish music group, Comhaltas Éirinn. It was in these early years that the Kilkenny based performer fell in love with Irish music and really began to shape his musical skill set.

Having 'caught the bug' at a young age, it wasn't long before Keith stumbled upon his first copy of the extremely popular recording software, Pro Tools. Keen to merge his influences from both the traditional and punk rock sounds, the passionate songwriter started to learn music production - experimenting with his writing and producing his own material along the way...

Kobara was then hired by Irish independent summer school Colaiste Lurgan to translate pop songs into Irish. It was here that he and some friends formed Irish pop band, Seo Linn.

The group had a successful run, touring across the world and performing on an array of national television shows, including the Ray Darcy Show and The Late Late Show.

Flash forward to present day and things are looking very bright indeed for Keith. Kicking things off with a bang, he released his debut solo track 'I Never Felt So Alive' in February 2019 - marking the launch of Kobara.

Roll in 2020 and the seasoned songwriter shows absolutely no signs of slowing down, having released his debut EP 'Five Lovely Poisons' on 5th June. The gifted Irish individual has since released videos for two of the tracks on YouTube...

The first of which, 'Your Heart is Your Home', delivers an exhilarating listening experience from start to finish.

Having been written/mixed/mastered himself, recorded in collaboration with the talented Davy Holden, the new single was also accompanied by a DIY style music video, shot on a Samsung s9 with a DJI steadycam and edited by the musician himself.

Speaking ahead of the video’s release, Kobara reveals the track’s true meaning, saying that “If you have demons in your heart your life is not going so well, but you should try treat your mind and your heart like you would a home, you keep the bad stuff out, it’s better to clear out the house, clear out heart, and move on.

The theme of the new EP is an evaluation of KOBARA’s first few years as a professional musician...

Describing the five track release further, he explains Each track deals with something I struggled with during that time. I refer to each track as a ‘Lovely Poison’ because when you’re in it, you relish it and it’s awesome, but those exact same things can be having a very negative impact on your life.

Kobara then followed this up with an impressively created lyric video for his song 'Can't Remember' on 13th June. With vibrantly coloured and skilfully designed artwork by Emma Fox, the video represents provides yet another look at what to expect from this talented musician.

We cannot wait to see what the future holds in store for Kobara. Here's to him and it!
