For today's Artist Discovery we'll be diving deep into the life, mind and music of British composer/saxophonist Jamie A!
Not afraid to push the boundaries of what music could or should be, the talented young artist takes inspiration from a wide range of styles - fusing together elements of electronic/ambient/chill to create his own uplifting and uniquely recognizable sound.
Having recently released his debut single 'Rona', it's a very exciting time indeed for the young songwriter. We caught up with Jamie to find out more...
Jamie's hunger for creating music began whilst he was still young, having first picked up Saxophone 17 years ago. Instantly hooked, music has been running through his veins ever since.
Originally from the picturesque county of Lancashire in the North West of England, Jamie is now based in London where he works in audio production.
What does music mean to you?
Without being a cliche, music is my life. I’m bad at math and other subject matters, so it’s something that I’ve studied and orientated my entire life around. But also because I love it..
Whilst he may be a Northerner at heart, the talented musician is certainly no stranger to the capital's nightlife having performed at legendary venues including Ronnie Scott's and The Blues Kitchen, as well at prestigious music festivals such as All Points East.
Aside from playing the saxophone, Jamie has also picked up skills on the piano, guitar and drums over the years - proving there are indeed many strings to his bow.
As well as boasting an already impressive live resume, the young creative is also well acquainted with the wonderful world of songwriting - having written his own music for many years now.
