Todays Artist Discovery features Brighton based 6 piece, Creeping Jean.
Named after the song ‘Creeping Jean’ by legendary British rockers The Kinks - the group fuse elements of Indie, Alt Rock and Blues to create a distinctively memorable and hugely agreeable sound.
Their latest single 'Stuck In My Ear', recorded by talented sound professional Daniel Crook, was released mid April 2020.
The well produced track offers a infectiously delightful and memorable experience to the listener - combining a rich blend of guitar tones and upbeat keys with a thick sounding rhythm section - all enriched with a certain live character and energetic feel.
Lead singer Oliver Tooze gives a strong and committed vocal performance - showcasing his impressively distinctive sound, stacked full of attitude.
Like far to many bands at the moment, Creeping Jean were forced to cancel their immediate upcoming plans due to the Coronavirus outbreak and related restrictions - included filming of the music video for the single...
...a potentially huge blow to the band...did this slow them down, though? Like fudge did it!
Not ones to be easily defeated, and testament to their versatility, Creeping Jean's creative instincts quickly kicked in and they decided instead to start work on a self isolation music video - filmed by the band themselves from their homes in Brighton.
Post production duties then fell to London based film maker Will Hutchinson who produced a fast paced and extremely entertaining edit.
Upon watching the finished video, there is absolutely no hint of it being a sudden change of plan/restricted in any way. In contrast, it appears as a well thought out and skillfully convicted piece.
We cannot wait to see what this exhilarating 5 piece get up to next!
