R&B/Soul artist Mid November releases 'Cada Día'!

Nottingham based singer songwriter Mid November's latest offering,'Cada Día' is out today!

The idea for the song came only a few weeks ago, when Mid November (real name Michael Newcombe) received a comment on his YouTube channel asking him if he could try singing his song 'Every Day' in Spanish. Always up for a challenge, he said yes!

The talented musician worked in collaboration with his South American friend Juanjo, who translated the original lyrics of 'Every Day' into Spanish and skilfully provided vocal guidance along the way.

Writing in his mailing list, Michael explained how the creative pair spent two days sending countless voice notes back and forth to one another (Nottingham to Columbia), tightening up the nuts and bolts along the way to produce a solidly strong vocal performance!

We reached out to Michael to find out how this exciting new version came to life - here's what he said...

"‘Cada Día’ came about really spontaneously. Something in me really liked the idea of a challenge, plus the Spanish language sounds so beautiful.

I haven't released an acoustic song before, texturally my sound is mainly a mixture of trap and pop, but with a chilled soulful approach- I often write and work songs through acoustically, so this felt really natural to me.

The process of working with Juanjo (who I had never met until he responded to my Instagram post!) was really, really fun. As well as a talented musician and lyricist, he's a great teacher and was very patient in guiding me through the pronunciation.

Lyrically, both the English and Spanish translation carry the same calming message of love and peace. A reminder that even through struggles, each day of life is a gift, and there’s joy to find in the simplest of moments."
