For fans of Blossoms, Tame Impala & Inhaler...
The focus of todays Artist Discovery is firmly on Indie Alt Rockers CALM!
The London based collective fuse together an array of meaty sounding guitar tones, wondrously wide sounding synths, a tightly locked rhythmic section and a contagiously catchy lead vocal...
The energetically charged band fuses together the creative strengths of Adam James, Jack Gee, Louie Cameron, Mark Zanna & James Langley.
The group have released a string of singles since releasing their debut record back in 2018, as well as performing their captivating live show to audiences across the UK - skilfully shaping their sound and style along the way.
One of their singles, 'Sucker', was even featured on the Netflix show ‘Terrace House’ as well as being listed on the Spotify Editorial playlists. With other tracks being featured by Tom Robinson at BBC Radio 6 and Dave Monks at BBC Introducing, the group were off to a very impressive start indeed!
Aside from possessing solid songwriting skills, it's clear that these boys also have a strong ear when it comes to production - taking a DIY approach to their recordings, all self-produced out of Adam's bedroom - adding yet another string to their already well strung bow...
The arrival 2020 marked a very exciting new chapter for the South Londoners indeed, with the release of not one but two highly anticipated singles, together on 26th June.
The tracks - titled 'Is There Anybody Alive Out There?' and 'Something's Changing' - feature a tightly locked variety of melodiously rich and bop boppingly exciting sounds!
"The A-track reflects on feelings of isolation and being cut off from the outside world during the last three months, wondering who and what will be left once things return to some sense of normality. The song is also a message of hope, questioning whether we will make positive changes to the way we live our lives as a result of this unprecedented event. Following up is the B-side ‘Something’s Changing’, which touches more on how life has and will have changed for better or for worse, during and post-pandemic."
The future looks incredibly bright for this exhilaratingly electric five piece and we can't wait to see it unfold!
